Samuel León’s founder Mr. Samuel was born in the south (the tropical city of Miami, Fl), where his interest in the arts was first discovered. He was always writing...or acting in a play...or playing one of the many sports he enjoyed so much as a adolescent (it was here that he formed the habit of keeping handy a red notebook that housed all of his big ideas and served also as the place for new creative thoughts).

After graduating graduate school he moved and became a long time resident of Brooklyn, NY where a chance meeting with a local leather craftsmen set him down the path of leather mastery. This craftsmen spoke about leather with great passion and detail, so much so that it was easy for that insatiable flame to find its way into Mr. Samuel. After a visit to his shop Mr. Samuel became the craftman’s apprentice, where they would spend many nights working and talking about leather. After making himself a few bags and giving some away as gifts, it was only the most natural progression that he formed a company to share his leather goods with the world. It was here that Samuel León Leather was founded. His passion and excitement for leather mastery is still just as strong today as it was when he started making bags for himself years ago. Mr. Samuel can still be seen jotting down his creative thoughts in one of his favorite notebooks. The process never stops.
